Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an institution that is accredited by an approved U.S. regional accrediting agency or a degree that is equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's degree. Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (based on a 4.0 scale) in the baccalaureate degree. For more information visit The Graduate School website.
Students applying for admission to the International Graduate Programs for Educators with an estimated grade point average below the minimum requirement of 2.5 are eligible to be considered for pre-major admission. For more information visit the Pre-Major Admission page.
To begin coursework with SUNY Buffalo State through the International Graduate Program for Educators applicants must be an accepted student. This includes having applied to the program, paid the application fee, provided appropriate supplemental materials, and received an admissions decision from the SUNY Buffalo State Graduate School. Individuals who begin coursework prior to the application deadline (listed below) must be an accepted student in order to gain credit for that course, meaning you will have to apply and be accepted prior to the suggested dates below.
Online applications received after the application deadline will not be considered for that semester. Applicants who submit late will have the option to apply for the following semester.

Degree Seeking Students - students seeking to complete the Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies degree - must adhere to the following application deadlines.
for Fall 2022 (August 1 –December 1)
Online Application must be completed and submitted by October 15, 2022
All supplemental materials must be submitted by November 15, 2022.
for Spring 2023 (December 1 – May 1)
Online Application must be completed and submitted by March 15, 2023
All supplemental materials must be submitted by April 15, 2023
for Summer 2023 (May 1 – August 1)
Online Application must be completed and submitted by July 1, 2023
All supplemental materials must be submitted by July 15, 2023
Once an applicant has been officially accepted, an acceptance letter will be emailed to the applicant using the email address provided on the Application for Admission. Please note that Hotmail email addresses are frequently rejected through college and university email servers.
Buffalo State maintains a student-managed admissions process. Therefore, it is the student’s responsibility to submit a complete application with all required components to the Graduate School by the appropriate deadline in addition to following up on said application and supplemental materials to verify that their application is complete. Thus, applicants are assured the admissions committee has all the necessary information to evaluate their qualifications to avoid delay in the application process.
Submitted materials are the property of the Graduate Studies Office. Copies of application materials will not be supplied to the student or any other institution.
